2021 Automapic Results : KWRC – Kitchener Waterloo Rally Club

This event was a round in our SNATR series and counted as two rounds in the provincial championship ORRC series. The tables below show the results of the “three” rallies plus the combined results so beginners that ran the whole event for fun with the harder Novice instructions can compare their scores.

Note that some of the SNATR competitors didn’t run leg B. There were separate awards for the SNATR and the combined Automapic.

Notes: There was a timing glitch for the experts before control B10 that caused a one minute error, plus some confusion on the map section leading to B17. I made both of those controls “route in – time out” for the experts, it doesn’t change the finish order.

In summary it was a great day for a rally. Good weather, great roads and challenging instructions. Thank you to the volunteers who made the rally happen:

Thanks also to The Spot restaurant for being our HQ in these difficult times. Thank you to everybody for doing what was necessary to keep as Covid safe as possible.

We were concerned that having the harvest in full swing would impact the use of roads and it did, but the competitors managed the situations and there were’t too many holdups.

There were a few interesting stories. One competitor lost their wallet and revisited the controls looking for it. It was at home. Another competitor had a Bee in the car and while trying to shoo it out the maps blew out of the sunroof. A crew that really wanted to try rally came from Montreal in their all electric Chevy Bolt and placed second in the SNATR.

The next ORRC is Spring Runoff / Presidents Prize on Oct. 23 to be held in the Trenton area and organized by PMSC. I don’t have details yet but they should be available soon at https://pmsc.on.ca/event/orrc-pmsc-presidents-prize-rally/ The last SNATR & ORRC rounds of the year will be Northern Lights/Aurora Borealis on November 27.
